President Jokowi Reviews Miniature Tropical Forest Reforestation and Plants Trees. Deputy for Environment and Natural Resources of the IKN Authority

Baca Gitu Loh - Borneo - President Joko Widodo planted trees at the Miniature Tropical Forest Reforestation location, Nusantara Capital Region (IKN), North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province, on Wednesday, December 20 2023.

Upon arrival, President Jokowi first inspected a number of Miniature Tropical Forest Reforestation facilities. Next, President Jokowi, accompanied by ministers, planted bangkirai trees, which was attended by a number of people.

In a separate statement, Deputy for Environment and Natural Resources of the IKN Authority Mirna Safitri said that the Miniature Tropical Forest Reforestation is a place to become a living lab in developing innovations for carrying out reforestation in IKN.

"This Miniature Tropical Rain Forest aims to be a living lab for various parties interested in developing innovations in an effort to carry out reforestation in protected areas in the archipelago," he explained.

Mirna also explained a number of facilities reviewed by the President during his visit, including an information center that explained tropical forest ecosystems in Kalimantan. "The first is as an information center that explains tropical forest ecosystems in Kalimantan and efforts to carry out reforestation," he said.

Furthermore, another location reviewed by the President was a building containing a number of forest products developed by the people of East Kalimantan. Mirna said that forest products in Kalimantan are not only wooden products, but also non-wood products.
